Class Rank Estimator
A Class Rank Estimator helps you estimate your class rank and percentile using your GPA, class size, and how many students are above (or tied with) you. It’s ideal when your school doesn’t publish official ranks, but you still want a realistic estimate for scholarships, honors, or admissions planning.
Class Rank And Percentile Formula
This tool uses a simple, transparent method:
- Best-case rank = 1 + students above you
- Worst-case rank = students above you + students tied with you
- Estimated rank ≈ average of best and worst case
- Percentile = (N − rank + 1) / N × 100
Example
If your class size is 120, students above you are 5, and students tied with you are 3:
- Best-case rank = 5 + 1 = 6
- Worst-case rank = 5 + 3 = 8
- Estimated rank ≈ (6 + 8) / 2 = 7
- Percentile ≈ (120 − 7 + 1) / 120 × 100 = 95% (approx.)
