Class Rank Estimator
Estimate your class rank using GPA and class size. Get percentile and approximate standing (Top 10%, Top 25%) to plan applications.
Methods: Known Top % turns a percentile into an estimated rank. Normal uses your class mean & standard deviation to place you on a bell curve. Empirical ranks you against a pasted GPA/score list.
Same scale rule: Your GPA/score, and any mean/std-dev you enter, must match the selected Scale (4.0, 5.0, or 100).
Import/Export: Paste a list in the Empirical panel (one per line, CSV allowed). Export CSV or PDF. Copy a share link from the Visual section.
Mean & Std Dev must be on the same scale you selected.

Class Rank — Frequently Asked Questions
What is class rank?
It’s your position when the class is sorted by GPA/score. Rank 1 is best.
Which method should I use?
Use Known Top % if your school reports a percentile; Normal if you know mean and standard deviation; Empirical if you have the actual list.
What scale should I pick?
Match the data: 4.0, 5.0, or 100. Your GPA/score and Normal inputs must be on the same scale.
Is higher score always better?
Yes — the estimator assumes higher is better, so 4.0 > 3.5, 95 > 90, etc.
