Common Curve Methods Explained (with Simple Formulas)

Add Points Curve

Adds a fixed number to every raw score.
Formula: Curved = Raw + b

Increase Percent Curve

Increases scores by a percentage factor.
Formula: Curved = Raw × (1 + p/100)

Scale to Max (Highest → 100)

Scales scores so the highest score becomes 100.
Formula: Curved = Raw × (100 / Highest)

Linear Curve to Target Mean

Adjusts scores so the class mean shifts to a target mean while respecting the highest score.
Idea: Builds a line: Curved = a×Raw + b

Z-Score Curve

Uses class mean and standard deviation to re-map scores into a new distribution.
Idea: Converts raw scores into z-scores, then applies a target distribution.

If you want to prevent unrealistic results, enable Clamp 0–100 so curved results stay within 0–100%.
